You, me and a cup of tea

Wow. My first post. The leap off the precipice. No going back. Here goes!

Hello Tea Sommeliers* and budding baristas! Welcome to my tea brewing, reviewing and hopefully not spewing lair (I like word play, I apologise in advance). For my first post, I thought it might be useful to give you a flavour of what to expect from The Tea Witch blog.

Whilst tea is my first love and main focus, I will occasionally dabble in the dark side of coffee too; I believe in equal opportunities for all beverages. Aside from shameful cuppa related puns and Dad jokes, you can also look forward to:

  • Around the World in Eigh-tea Days’ – Weekly reviews of different teas from all four corners of our fabulous planet
  • ‘Cruising for a Brew-sing’ – An exploration of the plethora of cafes, tea rooms and coffee shops in Sheffield and beyond
  • ‘There is no I in TEAm’ – History and reviews of British tea blenders, coffee makers and producers
  • Humanitea’ – A look at the social, political and economic history of tea

We might also delve into the murky world of ‘Celebritea’ spotting too-I for one would love to know what Barrack Obama drinks on the regs!

What other features would you like to see? Any suggestions for teas/coffees/cafes that you would like to see reviewed?

Thanks for reading 🙂

*Apparently a tea sommelier is the official term for a tea expert-who knew! Every day is a school day!

      1. If a tea doesn’t pair well with watching an armadillo win a lawn boules then there really is no point to it.

Erm … Not sure I really have a favourite. (I’ve never been good at having favourites). The tea I drink most often is boring English Breakfast (largely because it’s easy to get in large tins for a reasonable price and I like tea with milk in the mornings). I do really like green jasmine tea though.
